Once again, Newark is on the map! The Newark Liberty International Airport is soaring to new heights with a $2.7 billion renovation of Terminal A. With new additions, including updated security lines, intricate designs, vibrant aesthetics, an indoor playground, and a sensory room for individuals with autism to go through more relaxed screening processes, it is no wonder that the Newark Airport has received the coveted SkyTrax Award for “World’s Best New Airport Terminal”.
Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole affirmed the distinction by saying, “We believe strongly that our region deserves nothing but the best, and Newark Liberty has delivered the best new facility in the world for the state of New Jersey.”
Additionally, the terminal has become more user-friendly with its state-of-the-art design, earning praises from both passengers and industry insiders. The architectural innovation has earned Terminal A the UNESCO Prix Versailles Special Prize for its outstanding exterior design, which is a monumental accolade. “It’s no surprise that the industry’s leader has bestowed one of its highest honors on this facility. From the distinctly Jersey aesthetic to the first-rate amenities and home-grown attractions, Terminal A is a point of pride for the Garden State that the whole world now gets to enjoy,” stated New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy.
The Newark Liberty Airport’s Terminal A and LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B are now leading the ratings as top-rated terminals in North American airports, both earning the highest marks provided by SkyTrax.
