Celebrating its 10th anniversary, The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers Business School has been supporting urban and social entrepreneurs such as BCT Partners for a decade.
“Our focus is on the connection between entrepreneurship and community revitalization,” explains Lyneir Richardson, CU
EED’s executive director of five years. “We support small business people who don’t just want to see themselves succeed, they want to see their communities succeed.”
Randal Pinkett and Lawrence Hibbert of BCT Partners are founding members of CUEED’s Council of Entrepreneurs. Other members of the council include Fidelco Advisory Services Co-founder Marc Berson and MZM Construction CEO Marjorie Perry.
CUEED provides various types of assistance to entrepreneurs in several industries, including tech, retail, food service, and the arts.
“To date, we have assisted over 400 entrepreneurs. One of our goals for the future is to reach 1,000. We want to take entrepreneurs who are generating less than a million in revenue and get them to above a million. We currently have over 167 entrepreneurs generating over a million a year in revenue.”
